Has the dawn of a new cricket era ushered,an era in which the epicentre of the game shifts to India?,it's too early to make a concrete call, keeping in mind the potential of the baggygreen outfit to bounce back and the men in green,South Africa, led by a dynamic Graeme Smith. However, the IPL 2008 season, recent success of India in home and abroad really promises a bright future.8 straight wins have really boosted the team's confidence and the public faith in the players.India are now, just two wins away from wearing the no.1 crown,a crown which has hardly been worn by India.Things are working dramatically for the Men in Blue, ranging from MSD's success in winning tosses to the more clinical aspects of the game. The batting display since the last season poses no questions, but it would really be tested during the New Zealand tour, with the likes of Raina,Sharma,Yuvraj getting an opportunity to prove their mettle in conditions which are not the friendliest for batting.
The bowling, spearheaded by Zak,looks formidable, too with likes of Ishant, who is expected to make merry in the swinging Kiwi turfs.Keeping this in mind, inclusion of Irfan Pathan can also be a masterstroke which can also provide India with an extra batting option,so I won't be surprised if the Indian think tank includes him in the last two ODI's.Let's hope for a 5-0.GO INDIA GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
